PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault detection system capable of identifying a fault part based on a fault occurrence situation. SOLUTION: In an information processor having a structure dividing information processing among a plurality of functional units fulfilling functions different from one another, and distributing loads by setting a route passing through the functional units of a distinct combination on a facing information processor basis, this fault detection system includes: a route information holding means holding route information showing combinations of the functional units through which the respective routes pass; a monitoring means monitoring a communication condition with the facing information processor on a route basis; and an identification means detecting the functional unit through which the routes pass in common based on the combination of the route from which a fault has been detected by the monitoring means, and the combinations of the functional units through which the respective routes pass, and identifying the detected functional unit as a functional unit that has a high likelihood of causing the fault.
