PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system in which a problem that, when a relay apparatus having an IP address close to IP addresses of teleconference terminals is employed in a teleconference system, then loads may possibly be concentrated on a specific relay apparatus depending on communication states and if load applied to this relay apparatus exceeds an allowance, then failure may occur in the relay apparatus, entailing a disabled state in transmission and reception of image data and audio data is solved.SOLUTION: Base data, which is essential for reproducing an image or audio, is relayed through a base-data relay system, which includes a plurality of base-data relaying units, and a selector for selecting one base-data relaying unit for every communication between transmission terminals from among these base-data relaying units. Extended data for upgrading a quality of this image or audio is relayed through an extended-data relay system. By this configuration of the transmission system, even when an occurrence of the failure in the extended-data relay system disables relaying of any extended data, the base-data relay system can relay base data. |
