The present invention provides a switching device and method, used for realizing that a source auxiliary base station keeps unchanged in a main base station switching process of a user equipment, reducing time delay in the base station switching process, and avoiding the data communication outage problem between the user equipment and the source auxiliary base station in the base station switching process. The switching method provided by the present invention comprises: a target main base station receives a switching request sent by a source main base station, the switching request comprising first configuration information of a source auxiliary base station, and the source main base station and the source auxiliary base station together provide services to a user equipment; the target main base station sends a first instruction to the source auxiliary base station, the first instruction being used for instructing the source auxiliary base station to keep unchanged; and the target main base station sends a switching confirmation to the source main base station, the switching confirmation comprising second configuration information of the source auxiliary base station, and being used for providing services to the user equipment by the target main base station and the source auxiliary base station together. |
