In order to provide an impact work machine capable of increasing the impact force applied from a hammer to an anvil in a rotation direction, an impact work machine is provided with an electric motor, an anvil (27) supporting the work tool and driven by the electric motor, and a hammer (43) that applies an impact force to the anvil (27) in the rotation direction, the impact work machine further comprising: a spindle (40) disposed concentrically with the anvil (27) and supporting the hammer (43) moveably in an axis direction and in the rotation direction with respect to the anvil (27) while transmitting the power of the electric motor to the anvil (27); and a control unit that controls the rotational speed of the electric motor, wherein the number of times the hammer (43) hits the anvil (27) while the hammer (43) makes a single rotation varies in accordance with the rotational speed of the electric motor. |
