In an approach for recommending one or more connections in a social network system, a computer retrieves user profile information for a user of a social network system, and determines, based, at least in part, on the user profile information, a stage for the user, wherein the stage represents a social maturity level of the user in the social network system. The computer then determines, based, at least in part, on the user profile information and the stage, whether at least one connection is identified for the user in the social network system. Responsive to determining at least one connection is identified for the user, the computer recommends the at least one connection to the user. |

retrieving, by one or more computer processors, user profile information for a user of a social network system; determining, by one or more computer processors, based, at least in part, on the user profile information, a stage for the user, wherein the stage represents a social maturity level of the user in the social network system; determining, by one or more computer processors, based, at least in part, on the user profile information and the stage, whether at least one connection is identified for the user in the social network system; and responsive to determining at least one connection is identified for the user, recommending, by one or more computer processors, the at least one connection to the user. |
