Method and hardware device for remotely connecting to and controlling a private branch exchange

A method and apparatus for remotely connecting to and controlling IP-enabled PBX in the presence of barriers without the need to configure the IP-enabled PBX's that are requiring the ability to be remotely accessed. A hardware device automatically initiates a connection request to a remote control server. The remote control server authenticates the unique set of encrypted data from the hardware device and establishes a permanent secure tunnel connection on the same connection socket to the uniquely identified hardware device connection request. A remote control server mediates the establishment of dynamic IP links within this secure tunnel to the requested IP-enabled PBX via the hardware device upon request of the Support PCs. With programmed IP address or plurality of addresses in the hardware device the Support PC user can access selected IP-enabled PBX's connected on the same network as the hardware device.
