A method of recycling a multilayer structure 1 comprising a substrate and a coating layer thereon, the substrate comprising an acrylate polymer, the coating layer comprising a mixture of a glass fibre and a polyester resin; granulating 4 the multilayer structure to produce a granulated product 6; and, flowing air over the granulated product to separate a lighter fraction (generally the coating particles) therefrom. The air may be flowed over the granulated product by means of a fan 7 or a cyclone. The method may further include the step of providing at least a portion of the granulated product to a vibrating table 10 wherein at least one extractor fan 7 may be arranged above the table. A vibrating conveyor 8 may preferably be used for transferring the granulated product to the vibrating table, wherein at least one fan may be arranged above the conveyor belt for separating the lighter portion of the granulated product on the conveyor belt. The method may particularly be used for separating acrylate polymers with a spray-coated mixture of glass fibres and polyester resin as commonly used to manufacture baths and other bathroom furniture. |
