PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain the external appearance of a large roof and form a light and open atmosphere in the inside of a building by forming a large roof reaching the first floor ceiling in a two-story building and forming an opening on the large roof and providing a glass window on the external wall of the second floor. SOLUTION: In a gable roof 3 covering a two-story building, the ridge 3a is formed to bias from the center to one side and a large roof 3b reaching the first floor ceiling from the ridge 3a is formed. An opening 4 is formed at the central part of the large roof 3b. Further a glass window 22a is arranged at the external wall of the second floor facing the opening 4. Meanwhile, ft is possible that the floor of the second floor facing the opening 4 is used as a veranda and a glass door is used instead of the glass window 22a so as to go out to the veranda or come into the second floor. Moreover it is possible to form a courtyard in the first floor by forming an opening in the second floor. In this way, an atmosphere of a large roof can be kept in the appearance and a light and open atmosphere can be formed in the inside of the building.
