PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit building capable of promoting the outside appearance even when an upstairs floor area makes smaller than a downstairs floor area. SOLUTION: The upstairs is formed of a setback units 20 providing an exterior wall 24 to be located at one end edge of a bottom section 27 located at the positions retracted to the inside rather than the end edges and a setback units 30 providing two exterior walls 34 to be located at two end edges of bottom sections 37 located at the retracted positions going back to the insides rather than the end edges. An upstairs floor area can be so constructed that it makes-one size smaller than a downstairs floor area by combining the setback units 20 and 30 with each other to arrange. By the constitution, even when the upstairs floor area makes smaller than the downstairs floor area, both right and left balances are properly kept, and the outside appearance of a building 1 can be promoted.
