There is provided an optical device (1) including: first waveguide layers (41, 42) in which repetition reflection interference is generated; a second waveguide layer (10) having a rear surface opposing to the first waveguide layers (41, 42) and a front surface as a light emission surface; and a light extraction layer (30) arranged at the rear surface side of the second waveguide layer (10) so as to face the first waveguide layers (41, 42). The light extraction layer (30) includes a first portion (31) as a light-transparent layer and a plurality of second portions (32) dispersed in the first portion and having optical characteristic different from the first portion. The second portions (32) are arranged so as to form a triangular grating.
