PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a lock of hair to be beautifully curled by applying a tension to the lock of hair inside a cylindrical body. SOLUTION: The lock-of-hair retaining tool comprises the flat and cylindrical body 2 consisting of sheets through which the lock of hair can be inserted from an opening part 21 of one end to an opening part 22 of the other end. The sheet 23A forming one face of the body 2 is more susceptible to stretch in a lengthwise direction of the body 2 than the sheet 23B forming the other face.
