PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveyance device having excellent durability and provided with a control means for letting a sheet pass without being caught and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped with it. SOLUTION: The control means 72 having flexibility is provided at a branch point of a first sheet conveyance path P1 and a second sheet conveyance path P3. A fixed guide member 61 constituting a side wall of the first sheet conveyance path P1 in the direction opposing to the control means 72 is provided to block the first sheet conveyance path P1 by the control means 72 by letting a tip part of the control means 72 advance into a recess 61S formed in the fixed guide member 61. A bent part 72R bent in the direction of downstream side of the first sheet conveyance path P1 is provided at a tip of the control means 72, and a bent end 72C of the bent part 72R is stored inside the recess 61S.
