PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination plate fixing device and method wherein one side of lighting plates 4 of an elevator car is pushed up from a lower side to be inclined and the illumination plates 4 are prevented from falling. SOLUTION: The illumination plate fixing device has both holding arms 31 extending to right and left directions of a joint 5, and a holding tool 30 on which a connecting arm 32 for connecting both holding arms 31 is integrally formed, swingably and pivotably supported by the joint 5. One holding arm 31 is inserted in an opening 22 of a side face 21 of one illumination plate 4 to suppress vertical movement of one plate 4. The other holding arm 31 extends to a horizontal direction above the other plate 4 adjacent thereto through the joint 5 to suppress the vertical movement of the other plate 4. A tip end part is bent below into a hook 31a, and the hook 31a suppresses horizontal movement of the other plate 4. The connecting arm 32 abuts on a side face 21 of the other plate 4 to suppress a swing of the holding tool 30. Engagement of both holding arms 31 and both illumination plates 4 is maintained to prevent the plates 4 from falling from a prescribed position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
