PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent standing pouch free from wrinkles or distortion or the like occurring on a lateral seal. SOLUTION: A fold guide member 56 and a spreading member 68 for spreading and holding a tubular film F hanging from a filling tube 12 from inward are placed at the lower end of the filling tube 12 across the center of a film transfer path. The outer periphery of a folding roller 60 coming into contact with the tubular film F from outward and driven to rotate at a rotation peripheral speed faster than a film transfer speed is provided to protrude inwardly via a slit between fold guide pieces 56c and 56c of the fold guide member 56. The tubular film F passing through the guide pieces 56c and 56c and the folding roller 60 is folded inward by the roller 60. A holding piece 72b for holding a vertical seal 44 over a required vertical range is provided from the opposite side to the side where the roller 60 is provided, to prevent the tubular film F from changing its posture when it is folded inward by the roller 60.
