PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the versatility of a cap fastening device by enabling the device not only to screw a round cap on a bottle but also to drive a plugging-cap into the bottle. SOLUTION: The cap fastening device 35 has a roller opening/closing device 43 for opening/closing opposed fastening rollers by moving at least one of two or more roller heads 45 and 46 for supporting the opposed fastening rollers to make the one of the roller heads approach the other of the roller heads and a roller turning device 44 for forcibly turning at least one of two or more fastening rollers 45 and 46, when the cap 1 is held by fastening rollers 51-54 and is screwed on the bottle 2 by turning the fastening rollers.
