PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorber for packaging capable of suppressing collapse of corrugations of corrugated plates of upper and lower wall parts of the shock absorber, suppressing distortion, suppressing generation of barrel swell of a side plate of a sleeve, and maintaining the sleeve strength. SOLUTION: The shock absorber consists of a corrugated fiberboard-made outer shock-absorbing material 1, and a corrugated fiberboard-made inner shock-absorbing material 2 which is inserted in and set to the inside of the outer shock-absorbing material 1. End faces on the stage at which the longitudinal directions of the outer shock-absorbing material 1 and the inner shock-absorbing material 2 are directed in the vertical direction at the upper and lower end faces on both sides of the outer shock-absorbing material 1 and the inner shock-absorbing material 2 are flush with an outer top plate part 6a and an outer bottom plate part 7a at parts of L-shaped 6a' and 7a' formed in a rear portion of a continuous part to center plate parts of an outer top plate part 6a and an outer bottom plate part 7a.
