PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardened voyage recorder (HVR) protecting the data obtained by a voyage data recorder (VDR) and capable of using data when searching an accident or an "event". SOLUTION: This hardened voyage recorder includes a detachable memory module used on a voyaging ship, and the detachable memory module includes (a) an outer housing including an inner cavity for storing a solid state memory, (b) a cover for the outer housing, and (c) a heat insulating body disposed inside the inner cavity, defining at least part of a second inner cavity.
