PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for heavy load capable of improving durability of a belt layer while maintaining controllability and stability and partial wear resistance. SOLUTION: In the vicinity of the belt layer 15, a 0-angle belt reinforcement layer 20 having a central region cord 22 of which elongation when load is applied under tension of 400 N exceeds 1.3% and a shoulder region cord 23 of which elongation at that time is below 1.0% is provided. The central region cord 22 and the shoulder region cord 23 are formed substantially at 0 angle with respect to the tire circumferential direction. In addition, the central region cord 22 is arranged in a tread center region TC, and the shoulder region cord 23 is arranged in a tread shoulder region TS. This can make a rigidity difference between the tread center region TC and the tread shoulder region TS appropriate.
