The top (1) has a set of top linkages (3) each forming a lateral roof frame (2), where one of the top linkages is provides on each side of a convertible. A covering (4) is stretched to open when the top is closed and covers parts of the top. The covering includes stiffened lateral regions for facing the lateral roof frame. A seal is placed between the stiffened lateral regions of the covering and the lateral roof frame when the top is closed for forming a stretched-open covering. A sealing lip faces the stiffened lateral regions of the flexible covering.
