PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back pressure regulating valve that maintains an inlet side of the valve to a predetermined pressure. SOLUTION: In the back pressure regulating valve, a valve seat and a valve rod are mounted on a valve main body; the valve rod and the valve seat are deformably provided between a valve closing position in which the valve rod is in contact with the valve seat, and a valve open position in which the valve rod is separated from the valve seat and fluid that flows in from an inflow port can be discharged from a discharge port; and a back side of the valve rod is urged in a valve closing direction by a spring. The material of the valve rod is an iron-based double boride hard alloy, precipitation hardening stainless steel, chromized martensitic stainless steel, or nitrided austenite stainless steel. The back pressure regulating valve can be provided that can be used in a high pressure region where cavitation damage is intensive. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
