PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust preventing device for a ball screw, which device can realize excellent effects of preventing and removing powder and liquid, and can hold the lubricating oil by preventing the lubricating oil from losing out of the inside of a nut, and also can absorb a small amount of cutting fluid passing through an oil scraper, and can be surely and satisfactorily used for a practical use. SOLUTION: The dust preventing device for the ball screw is mounted on the end face of the nut, and is composed of an absorbing body, the oil scraper, and a scavenger in this order. The absorbing body is made of a material for absorbing and retaining liquid. The oil scraper comes into contact with the surface of the screw at an oil scavenging portion. The scavenger has scavenging teeth portions formed thereon for engaging with the surface of the screw. Further, projections are provided between the scavenger and the oil scraper, and the scavenger and the oil scraper are separated by at least one radial through-hole. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
