PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment liquid for ink-jet recording that can improve image quality and reduce or prevent corrosion of a metal member in contact with the treatment liquid in an ink-jet recorder.SOLUTION: The treatment liquid used for ink-jet recording contains polyallylamine, water, and at least one acid selected from a group consisting of nitric acid, amidosulfonic acid and itaconic acid. This treatment liquid can improve image quality and reduce or prevent corrosion of the metal member in contact with the treatment liquid in the ink-jet recorder.
