The present invention provides a data transmission method. The method includes: notifying a terminal to transmit data in a specific modulation and coding scheme (MCS), wherein, when the specific MCS is 256QAM, notifying the terminal to select an MCS/channel quality indicator (CQI)/transport block size (TBS) table corresponding to the 256QAM for data transmission, or else, notifying the terminal to select an original MCS/CQI/TBS table for the data transmission. The present invention also provides a data transmission apparatus and a base station. The technical solutions of the present invention enable the terminal to accurately select the MCS/CQI/TBS tables corresponding to different modulation and coding schemes, thereby smoothly realizing the data transmission. |
