Provided is a vehicle damping apparatus capable of appropriately controlling a generated force of a force generation mechanism. The vehicle damping apparatus comprises a damper 8 which is interposed between a vehicle body 2 and a carriage 3 and with which the generated force changes due to commands from outside, and a control apparatus 9 that controls the generated force, and further comprises a speed sensor 11 capable of detecting or calculating the running speed of the vehicle body 2. The control apparatus 9 comprises a compound sensor 10 capable of detecting the yaw and/or the pitch by being attached at a first point set at any position of the vehicle body 2, and a calculation apparatus 12 that corrects a central position of a rotational vibration of the vehicle body 2 in accordance with the detection or calculation results of the speed sensor 11 and that corrects a value detected by the compound sensor 10 on the basis of the central position.
