Disclosed are a method for diagnosing a network and an apparatus therefor. An operation method of a first communications node comprises the following steps of: checking a fixed state of each of communications nodes based on a first message transmitted between communications nodes connected to the first communication node, and a first response message which is a response to the first message; and generating a diagnosis response message including identification information of the communications node, which is in a fault condition or a normal condition, thereby improving the performance of the network.
