PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image signal generation device in which a panel drive power supplied to a display device is reduced and power consumption is saved, and further to provide a display device.SOLUTION: The image signal generation device includes: a visual line detection unit for detecting a visual line of a viewer visually recognizing a display; an area generation unit for separating a display area on the display into a first area within a prescribed range in the periphery of a fixation point where the visual line and the display area intersect, and a second area that is the rest of the display area with the first area excluded; a first frame memory for retaining a first image signal displayed on the display area; a filter unit for outputting a second image signal in which a prescribed band of the first image signal is limited; a second frame memory for retaining the second image signal; and an image output unit, connected to output sides of the first and second frame memories, for combining a third image signal in the first area within the first image signal outputted from the first frame memory and a fourth image signal in the second area within the second image signal outputted from the second frame memory, and outputting the combined image signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
