AQUEOUS PRIMER COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous primer composition excellent in water- resistance and useful for sticking a polyolefinic foam to steel sheet by compounding each specific amount of a rosin resin emulsion having a specific softening point and a polyester dispersion to a carboxylated chloroprene latex. SOLUTION: An aqueous primer composition is a combination of 10-200 pts.wt. of a rosin resin emulsion having a softening point of 80-170 deg.C and 5-30 pts.wt. of a polyester dispersion with 100 pts.wt. of a carboxylated chloroprene latex in terms of the solid part. The carboxylated chloroprene latex is obtained by copolymerizing an unsaturated carboxylic acid which can be copolymerized to 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene using an emulsion polymerization method under the presence of polyvinyl alcohol. The rosin resin emulsion is an emulsion of rosin or a rosin derivative. The polyester dispersion is a dispersed or dissolved polyester in water.
