PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device that causes no contradiction between a video image and an operation menu for interactive control in a special reproduction mode. SOLUTION: A conversion means 36 receives a transport stream from a reception means 34 in a recording mode. The conversion means 36 generates a normal reproduction use stream. Furthermore, in the case that a desired service includes interactive control data, the conversion means 36 generates the normal reproduction use stream including the control data. Moreover, the conversion means 36 selects a require packet to generate a special reproduction stream in a special reproduction. The special reproduction stream includes no interactive control data. A recording means 38 records the normal reproduction use stream and the special reproduction stream onto a recording medium 44. In the normal reproduction mode, interactive reproduction is conducted based on the interactive control data. Since no operation menu for the interactive control is displayed in the special reproduction mode, no contradiction between the operation menu and the video image is caused.
