PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a dot position when variation in pixel position is caused in a main scanning direction and a subscanning direction, in an imaging device equipped with an optical scanner. SOLUTION: In the dot position correcting method, an array of light sources aligned in the main scanning direction, are used as light sources, and when a single scanning line is scanned with fluxes of light emitted from not less than two light sources in such a way that the fluxes are superposed in almost the same scanning line, the light emission from different light sources is timed in such a way that one of the light sources emits light by a luminescent duration equivalent to a single pixel in the scanning line. In addition, the light emission from one light source is timed by controlling the light emission so that it can be achieved in the almost same timely interval and thereby, the dot position in the main scanning direction changes, instead of depending merely on the emission turn by single pixel of the light sources themselves. It is also possible to correct the dot position in the main scanning and the subscanning direction by arranging the light sources in the subscanning direction, in the plurality ratio to those aligned in the main scanning direction.
