PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glazed ceramic substrate which can be used as a thermal head substrate for a hard printing medium and is rugged highly, wherein the glaze layers of the top part, wall face part and skirt part of a protruding glaze layer are uniformly thin in thickness. SOLUTION: The glazed ceramic substrate has the glaze layer on the entire or partial surface of a ceramic substrate having a rugged surface in which a row or a plurality of rows of protrusions having an approximately trapezoidal or approximately half circle cross section.
