PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust-collecting device for a vacuum cleaner which can increase the suction performance. SOLUTION: Air, dust and dirt which have been sucked in from an inlet 12 are guided to a dust-collecting chamber 29 through a guiding path 41. On the downstream side of the bent section 46 of the guiding pipe 41, a plurality of ventilation ports 47 are formed on the opposite side (internal side) from the direction of a centrifugal force being applied to the dust and dirt which pass the bent section 46 are formed, and each ventilation port 47 is constituted in a manner to be covered with a mesh filter 50. When dust and dirt have been accumulated in the dust-collecting chamber 29 to a certain degree, air which flows in an introducing pipe 43 flows outside (a bypass 31 side) through the ventilation ports 47, and is guided to an outlet by bypassing the dust-collecting chamber 29.
