<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the characteristics degradation of a structure that contacts rotational members inside a fixing device. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming device forms a predetermined toner pattern on a photoreceptor drum 3 in a non-printing state and transfers the toner pattern to an intermediate transfer belt 2. When a toner is conveyed to a fixing device 14, the toner pattern is formed in a region outside the range of structure (thermistor 21, separation claws 22, etc.) contacting a heating roller 14a of the fixing device 14.
