<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To view an image of contents without wasting effective pixels. <P>SOLUTION: When a black band judgment part 41 judges the existence of black bands on the upper and lower parts of an image and when a reduction processing control part 42 judges the continuation of the image having black bands on the upper and lower parts for prescribed time, it allows a reduction conversion part 43 to remove the black band areas and execute reduction processing. When the black band judgment part 41 judges there is no black band at least on either one of the upper and lower parts of the image and when the reduction processing control part 42 judges the continuation of the image having no black band at least on either one of the upper and lower parts of the image for prescribed time, it allows the reduction conversion part 43 to execute reduction processing without removing the black band area. This invention can be applied to a recording apparatus for reducing and recording an image of broadcasting contents so as to be applied to a portable apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
