A power supply apparatus for testing communication equipment is provided to improve an input power factor characteristic and offer a power with high quality by performing a three-step converting process. A boosting converter(102) receives an AC power having a predetermined peak voltage, and outputs a first DC voltage boosted over the peak voltage. A second-switch forward converter(104) down-converts the first DC voltage, and outputs a second DC voltage lower than the first DC voltage. An additional forward converter(106) receives the second DC voltage from the second-switch forward converter, and outputs a third DC voltage lower than the second DC voltage.
