<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system for easily increasing capacity at low costs. <P>SOLUTION: N (N: number) information signals are synchronized, and timing for parallel transmission is synchronized, and the parallel signals are converted into optical signals having a different wavelength carrier, and a multiplexed output optical signal is transmitted through an optical fiber transmission path. This transmission path is an optical fiber transmission path having a distribution value finite in a used wavelength range or controlling distribution.
