The invention relates to a system that comprises two types of devices capable of performing a fully automated and real-time active surveillance of the movements of buildings and constructions, in particular in the fields of building and civil engineering, through the digital development of images and, in general, multi-dimensional representations. The system of the invention comprises one or more multiple-technology acquisition devices and one or more centralised control and development devices. During a typical operation, said two types of devices operate together in order to implement all of the functions necessary for the complete and automatic monitoring and surveillance of the occurrence of problems in the building.
