This electrostatic spray device is a device for applying an atomized liquid that has been atomized by an electrostatic explosion to an object (40) receiving application and is provided with: a liquid spray unit (20) which has a tip from which charged liquid separates and in which charging and separation are carried out by electrostatic force; a collector (30) for collecting atomized liquid not applied to the object (40) receiving application; and at least one voltage application means (50) for applying a voltage between the liquid spray unit (20) and the collector (30) and between the liquid spray unit (20) and the object (40) receiving application such that the potential of the liquid spray unit (20) is a first potential when the collector (30) is used as a standard and a second potential when the object (40) receiving application is used as a standard, and also the direction of the polarity of the first potential and the direction of the polarity of the second potential are the same. Furthermore, the distance between the liquid spray unit (20) and the collector (30) is greater than the distance between the liquid spray unit (20) and the position in which the atomized liquid is applied to the object (40) receiving application.
