PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accounting of data connections of packet data in wireless communications networks.SOLUTION: Techniques for assisting in wireless communications include a home agent HA 708 receiving a registration request (such as a mobile internet protocol MIP registration request, and transmitting, based on the received registration request, an accounting message indicating support of an accounting mode to a PDSN.
