PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for managing zones of multi-zone media playback system.SOLUTION: An apparatus includes: a user interface; a controller for configuring one or more zone groups, where each of the zone groups is associated with one or more media playback devices; a detector for monitoring the user interface and for detecting that an icon representative of a first zone group of one or more zone groups on the user interface is dragged from a first position to a second position; and a configuration organizer to organize a configuration of one or more zone groups in response to detection of drag of the icon.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
