PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal that can be easily and surely held and operated in one hand.SOLUTION: In the portable terminal, a "quick sidebar" that is an icon image in a vertically long bar shape is displayed at both ends of a screen of the portable terminal. When touch operation is performed on the quick sidebar, the portable terminal reacts to the touch operation. Various functions of the portable terminal or applications are related to the quick sidebar and in accordance with a kind of the touch operation upon the quick sidebar, these functions or applications are called. By displaying the quick sidebar at a position (screen end) that is close to the thumb in a one-hand-held state, touch operation can be easily and surely performed on the quick sidebar with the thumb in the one-hand-held state of the portable terminal. Thus, one-hand operation can be performed on the portable terminal without losing stability in the one-hand-held state of the portable terminal (stability of the portable terminal during one-hand operation), so that the portable terminal can be easily held and operated in one hand.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
