<p>A refractory pour tube (10) with a wear resistant plate (20) includes a one-piece composite member (60) formed of different refractory compositions, a casing (64) disposed around a portion of the member (60) and a castable refractory material (80) disposed within the casing. The composite member (60) has a tubular body portion (30) defining an interior bore (32) and an end portion (24) defining a flat plate surface (26) including an opening (29) communicating with the bore (32). The end portion (24) is formed of a hard refractory composition resistant to abrasion, while the tubular body portion (30) is formed of a refractory composition resistant to thermal shock. First and second castable refractory materials are poured into the casing (64) to form a refractory ring (82) surrounding the flat plate surface (26) and a refractory sleeve (90) surrounding the tubular body portion (30).</p> |
