PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the efficiency of a recording medium by recording video data and compressed video data obtained by means of compressed data through the use of a first compression rate and recording first compressed video data and compressed video data obtained by means of compressed data through the use of the second compression rate being lower than the first one in a recording medium. SOLUTION: A data compression part 20 successively executes a compression encoding in frame image data based on an MPEG standard so that image information is converted into a frame image obtained by compressing data by the prescribed compression rate and, then, it is transmitted to a hard disk device 22 as compression frame image data D2. The hard disk device 22 respectively records supplied frame image data D1 and compression frame image data D2. At this time, the device 22 respectively adds time codes for expressing each disk position information on a hard disk 22A by synchronization with D1 and D2 and records them.
