PLASMA ARC TYPE ASH MELTING FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma arc type ash melting furnace contriving to extend the life of electrodes such as a furnace bottom electrode, permitting the more positive start-up without requiring the manual work of workers and taking no start-up time. SOLUTION: The plasma arc type ash melting furnace is provided with a furnace bottom electrode arranged at the furnace bottom and a main electrode penetrating a furnace lid and melts ash by application of electric current between the furnace bottom electrode and the main electrode. In this furnace a metal material, is disposed on the furnace bottom on the furnace bottom electrode and slag is disposed on the lower periphery of the main electrode on the metal material. Ash melting treatment is started by a plasma arc in the plasma arc type ash melting furnace. The method of starting the furnace is also provided.
