The invention concerns a hairdresser's masking aid for masking selected s trands of hair from other strands of hair while the selected strands are tre ated. The masking aid comprising at least two panels (10, 40) of flexible sh eet material which are capable of being hinged apart to receive the selected strands and subsequently brought together to envelop the selected strands. At least one of the panels (40) comprises a substrate of a flexible and tran sparent plastics material (46, 48, 50, 52, 54) laminated over at least part of its area to a metal foil substrate (42). The plastics substrate is lamina ted to the said metal foil substrate by a laminating wax so that the resulta nt laminated sheet is capable of being deadfolded in a similar way as non-la minated aluminium foil.
