PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an image unidentified in collation for ensuring proper operation and/or preventing illegal use such as malicious use, when identity is determined by collating biological information for authentication with previously registered biological information. SOLUTION: A collation value, is determined with respect to a determination threshold value in a collation failure when a collation failure occurs in collation between an authentication image of biological information for authentication and a registration image of previously registered biometric information, and an image in the previous collation failure is associated with the registration image and registered. By collating the authentication image in the current collation failure with the authentication image in the collation failure registered in association with the registration image, similarity is determined, and if a higher collation value is determined in both current and previous determination and high similarity is determined between the authentication image in the previous collation failure and that of current one, an operation warning is displayed.
