The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method for controlling the same, wherein the mobile terminal can remotely control a small flying object in which a camera is mounted. To achieve this, the mobile terminal may comprise: a display unit to display information; a wireless communication unit to communicate with a small flying object; and a control unit generating a photographing group and remotely controlling the small flying object to track and photograph a subject to be photographed when at least one of participants in the photographing group is selected to be the subject to be photographed.
