This information processing apparatus: receives, from a shop terminal, a first code including a content ID which identifies digital content read by the shop terminal from a content card; receives, from the shop terminal, a list of retained content IDs which are retained in a library of a user terminal of a user; determines whether the content ID, which is included in the received first code or a related content ID related to the content ID, is included in the received list; decides on a price at which digital content is to be sold to a user, according to the determined results; transmits information pertaining to the decided price to the shop terminal; activates the digital content when payment information for the digital content based on the decided price is received from the shop terminal; and allows the activated digital content to be downloaded to the user terminal when a second code for downloading the digital content is received from the user terminal. |
