A valve device (2) serves to switch and/or meter fluid and has a valve seat body (15) and a valve plate (16) which can be adjusted relative to the valve seat body (15). The valve plate (16) is of plate-shaped configuration. A sealing seat (26) is formed between a circumferential outer side (20) of the valve plate (16) and an inwardly oriented inner side (29) of the valve seat body (15). A non-negligible seat angle difference (32) of approximately 1.5° is fixed between a seat angle (30) of the valve plate (16) on the sealing seat (26) and a seat angle (31) of the valve seat body (15) on the sealing seat (26'). Furthermore, a fuel injection system (1) for a valve device (2) of this type is specified.
