This scanning endoscope device includes: a scanning endoscope which scans an illumination light over a subject by driving an actuator that oscillates a fiber for guiding the illumination light to be applied on the subject; a storage unit which stores drive condition information relating to drive conditions of the actuator and specific information that is specific to the scanning endoscope and has a larger data quantity than the drive condition information; a readout unit which reads the drive condition information before the specific information from among the information stored in the storage unit; and a control unit which controls the drive of the actuator on the basis of the drive condition information that has been read first.
