Provided is an electrolysis device that: comprises a detector that detects errors in an electrolysis tank; is capable of rapidly detecting the occurrence of errors; and has few malfunctions whereby an erroneous determination is made that an error has occurred, as a result of environmental change and despite being in a normal state, and electrolysis is stopped. This electrolysis device comprises: an electrolysis unit provided so as to electrolyze a supplied electrolyte and discharge an electrolysis product; and a detection unit. The electrolysis unit comprises an electrode for electrolysis. The detection unit comprises a detection electrode that measures the electrical characteristics of the electrolyte, the electrolysis production, or a mixture of both. The detection unit is characterized by detecting reductions in the amount of supplied electrolyte that is supplied to the electrolysis unit or reductions in the amount of electrolysis product discharged from the electrolysis unit. |
